Thanks to umbra for the plot!

Kira did not in fact succeed in killing L at all, in fact L had made a deal with Rem, and they had planned it all out for Rem never liked Light he did not want to be his dog all he wanted was for Misa to live so in fact he made it so Misa lives, but Kira loses. Unfortunately Rem also chose not to tell Lawliet who Kira was and by doing so insured Misa's safety from L. Knowing that he was at an advantage by making Kira think he was dead L choe to manifest his thoughts trough Near, Contacting him every once in a while through extreme secret calls, messages, or any other way he could. Lawliet was actually staying with his brother Umino and both were working on the case somewhere in London. After Near had his victory over Kira whom actually did die Lawliet came out of secrecy showing himself again to the poeple who helped take down Kira. Light Yagami did die at the hands of Ryuuk tho, but in doing so Ryuuk had other plans than to just kill Light, In fact he actually made Light a Shinigami For Ryuuk wanted more "entertainment". Light was not one to just be used as a toy tho, instead of just hanging around with the other Shinigami he had ambitions and fufilled them, he took over the Shinigami realm and became a true God, atleast to the shinigami he did. He managed to get his normal body back through his newly found "God Powers", He returned to the Human world and sought after his arch-rival whom he knew know was alive L, unfortunately he still didn't know Lawliet's name and therefor a whole new game has begun, who will be the victor, Kira and his followers or L and His detectives?
